Why inspect for mold in air or materials?
To avoid health and financial problems. Mold can have serious consequences for the occupants. These range from allergies to chronic headaches and major respiratory problems. Adding to the health effects are financial troubles because mold can lower property value. It can be an impediment when selling your house and decontamination can represent a major investment. Ingeniair offers two quality analysis to assess the degree of mold contamination. These tests can be complementary depending on the situation.
The first test is to evaluate your indoor air quality in order to determine the types of mold or toxins present in the air. Depending on the concentration, decontamination may be necessary. This type of testing is of major importance because it tells you if how much you have to spend for decontamination. Air testing is just a fraction of the cost of decontaminating so it’s a sound investment !
The second test consists in evaluating the mold contaminants on the surface of the materials. It will permit to determine if, for example, black spots in the attic space are mold or just dirt. Visual inspections cannot ascertain for the presence of mold even if it does raise doubts. Having a quality analysis done is better to realy detect the presence of mold. Testing is therefore important in case of realestate litigation, inspection before sale or simply for your peace of mind.
Mold testing assures you of the quality of the air you breath, and is a health advantage. For owners it also means a good property value and saves you from problems when selling your house. It is therefore important to keep your Ingeniair reports handy !
